Lilygol Sedaghat, a political economy major at the University of California, Berkeley, is a recipient of a 2013 The HAND Foundation scholarship from the Iranian-American Scholarship Fund (IASF).

Sedaghat is an exemplary recipient who has volunteered countless hours in Costa Rica, China, India, and all throughout California. In Costa Rica, she led her own project working with the national childcare program; in China she taught English and break-dancing to children and adults; in India she worked with prominent non-profit organizations; and in California she worked with underserved communities promoting the importance of higher education.
